Communal conflicts in India

COMMUNAL CONFLICTS IN INDIA:
Perhaps, this is one of the PERENNIAL problems of India. Since years, communal problems have engulfed our nation into hatred, jealousy,narrow-mindedness, a feeling of insecurity and difference of opinions shared among various communities. All this has only become an impediment in our all-round development. Be it the horrendous Gujarat riots or the tarnished Muzaffarnagar riots, India has been tolerating this bunkum since a long time now. According to me it is all connected to ‘sentiments’, which have a major hand behind all these problems. Take the example of the train at Godhra which was burnt, assassinating all the Hindu pilgrims returning from Ayodhya. This acted as a catalyst in bringing about the Gujarat riots which assassinated not only hundreds of Muslims but also many innocent women and children, who had no role in any of the events which unfolded there. Another one can be the anti-Sikh conflict, which began just after  Mrs.Indira- Gandhi’s assassination by her bodyguards who were Sikhs. Just because of two Sikhs, the entire Sikh community had to face a genocide. How outrageous! We are now in 2017. Instead of being progressive, we are being regressive because of these unending tribulations. No country  in this world has got a diversity in culture, community and religion like us. Isn’t that a fascinating fact to have our chests swollen with pride?

Yet, there are some extremist groups in our country who put their interests before our nation’s.
Despite these problems , steadily our country is entering into a new era and is trying to come out of this vicious cycle of riots and communal conflicts. For instance, in the poll bound district of Muzaffarnagar in March 2017, every citizen has unanimously agreed that they wish to forget about those riots and move on. They even hope that in the future they do not have to witness such riots. Yet, I believe that Illiteracy and political intervention is a problem which also is a battle we need to fight against. It has been years now, since our country is being ruled by fat-cat politicians, who are eating away our wealth. To top it all, the folks living in the country side, who are mostly illiterates are the greatest patrons of these bureaucrats. It is claimed that most of the problems in India takes place because of these corrupt politicians. Take the example of the Babri Majid demolitions, which had its triggers felt till Mumbai , Bangladesh and had more than a thousand killed and shattered. Although the comman man had to bear all the sufferings, there were a few bureaucrats who had planned this demolition very well in advance.

Its gut-wrenching to see that these corrupt officials and the same problem of illiteracy ravages our country and is spreading its roots at a faster pace and with a faster reach. This is a problem which rears its ugly head occasionally like a disease, gripping the nation with tentacles spread in the pysche. In a nutshell, I pen down this article on behalf of the youth of this nation to just wish that one day we all stand united, keep aside our  tribulations and give rise to a country which upholds the virtues of peace, open-mindedness as well as respects every culture, community, individual  and caste with open arms.
